If you’re looking for quality, stop searching — this place surpasses it. Gugelhof Restaurant is clean, welcoming, and family-owned, with flavors that will stay in your taste-bud memory forever. It’s not just the freshness of the ingredients — it’s the way everything is thoughtfully combined to keep you coming back for more. And yes, that’s true… we’ve already been here two days in a row. Our waiter, Erik, was absolutely amazing — funny, personable, and such a pleasure to talk with. He alone earns 5 stars. And the magic behind every plate? Chef Mati. A true master who knows how to bring multiple flavors together into one unforgettable bite. If you’re hungry, you will not regret coming here. Just show up hungry — they’ll handle the rest (except putting it in your mouth… just kidding ). Highly recommend. We’ll definitely be back.
We visited twice — once for lunch and once for dinner — and both visits were genuinely pleasant. The atmosphere is very cosy and warm, the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable staying a bit longer. The service stood out as well: friendly, chatty, and attentive without being overbearing. The menu offers plenty of choice, which really worked for us. At lunch, I finally got exactly what I was craving — a proper soup and a very fresh, green salad. In the evening, it was all about comforting, well-prepared dishes that suited a relaxed dinner perfectly. A solid, welcoming spot that works equally well for a light lunch or a hearty dinner. Easy to return to.
We visited here during our stay in Berlin since we wanted to have German food at least once during our trip. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly and helped make our decision since it was so difficult to choose a dish due to the many choices. Also very reasonably priced when comparing to the Netherlands for what you get.
